“Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us  from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:12-14 NKJV

Father and Lord,

We call You Father and yet You are The Lord. Not like a Lord here on earth, in name only, but Lord of all that is known and unknown! You created it, spoke it into being. We have no right to ask anything of You and yet, we have the privilege of coming to You as our heavenly Father and loved, cherished children. Not having to fear You as some angry deity in the sky or wondering if you are there at all! And to know we have an inheritance though Jesus. Someone has to die to enable someone else to inherit. You planned all this back in the beginning!

If we took the test to qualify to become Your family we’d fail – we could never be good enough to pass. We all have sinned and fallen short (Romans 3:23). Meeting Jesus Your Son not only deals with sin but qualifies us to become family and inherit through Him.

An Inheritance imperishable, undefiled, and unfading (1 Peter 1:4). There is no doubt, no price to be paid, no last minute glitches. You deliver us from the power of darkness. Not just from darkness – but from its power. Death cannot to do anything to us. We will rise again to new life.

Money is necessary. Money can buy comfort but it is perishable like us! I am richer than a millionaire just because You care as an old chorus says. Today, Lord help us to remember we inherit things that money cannot buy. A future, forgiveness, love, heaven. We have certain hope and a future. Not a hope so faith but a very real, life changing faith and eternity. Help us to live as good children and as obedient citizens of Your Kingdom. Till we see You face to face in heaven.

In Jesus name, we pray, Amen.

Saviour God,

So many to name, that we know and love. So many in our hearts and on our prayer lists. You know their needs, troubles and joys and hopes. Deliver them from evil, draw them into your Kingdom. Dispel the darkness and shed Your light on their path. Thank you for the many prayers You have answered and the times we have not recognised You were at work. Bless our church family.

Today we pray for those who are paid a pittance and are on a treadmill of poverty. For those who entrapped or abducted both adults and children to be a slave workforce. For the weak and vulnerable used to fund scammers lifestyles. We pray that justice will be done on earth. Help free them, expose the perpetrators and help those who can provide them with good employment and help and support.

We pray for our King and all the other Sovereign leaders around the world. In Saudi Arabia, Bhutan, Oman, UAE, Brunei, Cambodia, Luxembourg, Belgium, Sweden, Swaziland, Lesotho, Netherlands, Bahrain, Japan, Spain, Thailand, Qatar, Denmark, Jordan, Morocco, Lichtenstein, Monaco, Malaysia, Kuwait, Tonga, Norway. (And any I might have missed Lord!) We pray they will be righteous monarchs, an influence for good, using the powers they have to seek the best for the health of their nations. Touch their hearts and their deeds with Your compassion for their people.

And for Ukraine, be the God who brings an end to war. Soon.

In Your name Jesus, we pray, Amen

Worship Tuesday 1st October 2023
A golden oldie I hope does not get forgotten because it says it all, and enables us to sing it.

My Father is rich in houses and land,
He holdeth the wealth of the world in His hands!
Of rubies and diamonds, of silver and gold,
His coffers are full, He has riches untold.

I’m a child of the King,
A child of the King,
With Jesus my Savior,
I’m a child of the King.

My Father’s own Son, the Savior of men,
Once wandered on earth as the poorest of them;
But now He is reigning for ever on high,
And will give me a home in heav’n by and by.

I once was an outcast stranger on earth,
A sinner by choice and an alien by birth;
But I’ve been adopted, my name’s written down,
An heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown.

A tent or a cottage, why should I care?
They’re building a palace for me over there;
Though exiled from home, yet still may I sing:
All glory to God, I’m a child of the King.

Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” 2 Corinthians 1:21,22 NKJ

Lord God, King of Kings,

How great Thou art. Great is thy faithfulness. Dear Lord and Father of mankind. Jesus, name above all names. Hymns that stir us to worship, help and enable us to praise you for your goodness towards us. You are God. You give good gifts, you light the way ahead, you comfort us, you wash our past with forgiveness and take away our shame. Hallelujah.

The news and newspapers are still full of the Coronation and anointing of Charles as King. And it reminds me that You. the King of Kings, have established me, us with all the other believers in Jesus Christ and anointed us. How wonderful it is to remember that we too had our own anointing moment when we asked You into our lives and You came by Your Spirit. We are part of another Kingdom and together with all the other subjects we are united as one. Millions of us! Sharing the same immeasurable love of God, the same priceless forgiveness, the same eternal hope.

It is the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead that dwells in us, all of us, uniting us. (Romans 8:11). Your Spirit in our hearts a guarantee from you to all of us! A guarantee of your love, presence and commitment. We are united in Your love and care. And a call to serve and love each other. What an assurance that gives us today and every day.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen

Lord God,

We bring our family , friends and church family to You for their needs and hearts desires. For their health and their safety and help in life’s situations.

We continue to plead for freedom from war for Ukraine and Russia. We continue to plead for freedom from warring factions within Sudan and good leadership to arise.

Our hearts go out to the  villages in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and those close to the shore of Lake Kivu where there has been torrential rainfall and mudslides. Comfort those who mourn and grant that help and relief will get to those who have lost everything.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen

Worship Tuesday 9th May 2023

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of his Spirit, washed in His blood

This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long

Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

In 1873, two close friends, Fanny Crosby and Phoebe Knapp gathered together and unexpectedly developed what we would refer to today as the song, “Blessed Assurance”, one working as the composer, the other as the writer.

Fanny was only two months old when she suffered from an eye infection, received improper treatment and was left mostly blind for the rest of her life. Only able to sense light and dark. Her father passed away when she was a baby, and her mother worked as a maid. Fanny’s grandmother raised her. She did not see Fanny’s inability to see as a disability, she read Scripture to her, so Fanny memorize passages by heart. Although memorizing Scripture was a huge part of Fanny’s early years, it wasn’t until 1850 (30 years of age) that she officially committed her life to Jesus Christ.

Sunday 8th January 2023

“For look, I am ready to create new heavens and a new earth! The former ones will not be remembered; no one will think about them anymore. 18 But be happy and rejoice forevermore over what I am about to create! For look, I am ready to create Jerusalem to be a source of joy, and her people to be a source of happiness. 19 Jerusalem will bring me joy, and my people will bring me happiness. The sound of weeping or cries of sorrow will never be heard in her again.”
Isaiah 65:17-19 NET

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. . . ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:1,2 and 4 NIV

God our creator,

Isaiah would have sounded way out to the people of His time. They would probably concentrate of the actual Jerusalem their centre of worship and whose Temple had seen better times. For those of us who know Your Son, reading and believing in a new heaven and a new earth still needs a leap of faith. We can trust You because we have met Jesus who promised that he had gone to prepare the place for us (John 14:1-3). We are living and learning that He keeps His promises.

The writer to the Romans talks about all of creation groaning and suffering and waiting for redemption. We see the pain of our earth today, earthquakes, landslides, droughts, floods. Even those who do not believe can see something is wrong. You will make earth and heaven new as if there had been no sin. One day we will live where there is no evil, no tears, no death no mourning. We will be able to love each other as Jesus loves us. Today we see the challenges of life but we need to keep an eye on our final wonderful destination.

Thank You that You are eternal and Jesus gives us an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading (1 Peter 1:4).

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Father of creation,

We pray You will create and speak answers to our prayers into being for those we seek help for. Those who need a healing touch or simply to know all will be well and find peace. We pray that those we know who need employment or are starting new jobs will find fulfilment and reward. We pray that those who need direction will find Your guidance and those weary will find rest.

Ukraine, Lord we cannot cease asking for You to break into this conflict with a way to peace and righteousness. We pray too for all refugees who simply want to live free from terror and prejudice and domination. Bring freedom to their nations so they need not flee. For those stuck in camps we pray solutions beyond just confinement or sending back. For those living in fear we pray Your hand of protection and deliverance.

Thank you for all we have and rely on for comfortable, safe and supported living. The good things in life, not the riches, which we often take for granted.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship Sunday 8th January 2023

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you washed in the blood?
In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless, are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
Oh, be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

Some glad morning when this life is over
I’ll fly away
To a home on God’s celestial shore
I’ll fly away

I’ll fly away, oh, Glory, I’ll fly away
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by
I’ll fly away

Just a few more weary days and then
I’ll fly away
To a land where joy shall never end
I’ll fly away
